Ant and Dec have shared their thoughts on it Bruno Tonioli‘s arrival on Britain’s Got Talent Panel, after the departure of David Walliams.

BGT season 16 filming began last month with the former Be sure to come dance Judge Bruno Tonioli the first addition to the show in over a decade.

His appointment comes after it was revealed David would not be returning to the ITV show.

His departure came after footage of him making explicit and disparaging remarks about the cast members on the set of BGT 2020 was leaked in the press, for which he later apologized.

During an exclusive interview with HuffPost UK, which will be published on Saturday (February 25), Ant and Dec admitted they were “concerned” before production on BGT’s new series began.

“We love David Walliams and we miss him,” says Ant, with Dec insisting the pair are “still good friends” with the former Little Britain comedian.

Ant continues: “We write a lot, we see him socially, so we were really anxious to start this new series.

“But the first day of the audition we thought, ‘We just have to treat Bruno like the new guy and be nice to him.’ And he was really nervous.

“We spoke to him just before and he said, ‘I can’t even tell you how nervous I am,’ which surprised us because he’s done Stranger on major TV shows.

“So I felt sorry for him, but I thought it showed real humility. And we were just nice to him. We laughed at him when he made mistakes but tried to teach him a little bit.”
