Pokemon GO Players will receive their #999 and #1000 Pokédex entries this week with the debut of Gimmighoul and Goldengo.
Along with the announcement of the game’s interconnectivity too Pokemon scarlet And Pokemon Violetthere is certainly much more for players to discover in both games.
Here’s a quick guide on how to get these new Pokemon for both games.
How to get Ghimmighoul in Pokémon GO with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
To catch the roaming form of Gimmighoul you would need to connect your Nintendo Switch to yours Pokemon GO Account and exchange some items for the Coin Bag, which acts like incense to attract the gold-loving Pokémon. You will also need your Scarlet and Violet game to do this.
Here are the steps to do it:
-
Open your Scarlet and Violet game and open the Poke Portal.
-
Select Mystery Gift from the menu.
-
Click “Connect to Pokémon GO”.
-
Then open your Pokémon GO and go to “Settings”.
-
Select “Nintendo Switch” from the options.
-
Return to your Scarlet and Violet game and click “Pairing with a Pokémon GO Account”.
-
A prompt should appear to connect your Pokémon GO account (with your account name). Choose Connect.
Once you have connected both games, you can send postcards Pokemon GO to your Pokemon scarlet or Pokemon Violet Account. You can do this by going to your postcard book in-game, which you can find under your trainer level on the main profile page. From there, select a postcard and click Send to Nintendo Switch.
Upon successful shipment, your Nintendo Switch will prompt you that you have received a “Mystery Gift” and this means the Coin Bag reward has been sent to you Pokemon GO Account. You will also get golden bait modules. From here you can use the gold coins to attract as many Gimmighouls as you can for 30 minutes.
Note that you cannot use the coin pouch if you have other booster items like incense, and the coin pouch can only be used once per day. Also, the roaming form of Gimmighoul is only available on Pokemon GOwhile its stationary “chest” form is not yet in play.
This roaming form can be transferred from Pokemon GO To Pokemon scarlet And Pokemon Violet once support for Pokémon Home rolls out for both games.
How to get Gholdengo?
You can evolve a Gimmighoul into a Gholdengo once you collect 999 Gimmighoul coins. You can get these coins by catching Gimmighoul or by sending postcards.
Added to this is Niantic, the developer of Pokemon GOannounced on Thursday (March 2) that they are giving away Gimmighoul Coins in the in-game shop for a limited time.
Can I get Ghimmighul in Pokemon GO without Scarlet and Violet?
The short answer is yes, but you would need to find a gold PokéStop modified with a gold bait module.
So the best way to go about this is to work with friends or people in the Pokémon GO community who also play Scarlet and Violet so that you’re present when they drop a Golden Lure Module on a PokéStop.
However, if you’re a little shy about saying hello to other players, then your best bet is to randomly search for golden PokéStops and hope for the best.
Happy hunting!
